Myths and conflict in the South Caucasus
Research into the political myths and narratives that exacerbate conflict
This report presents research into the mechanisms behind the creation of ‘myths’ and the perpetuation of ‘enemy images’ which feed into and exacerbate conflict dynamics in the region (such as the political myths and narratives perpetuated by the media and politicians).
Based on regional joint analysis and dialogue on key obstacles to conflict resolution, it examines mindsets, propaganda and enemy images. It highlights the need to be self-critical and analytical, examining the mechanisms through which propaganda, enemy images and stereotypes are created and how public opinion is manipulated.
